Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities from start to completion
- Lead daily site operations, ensuring work is executed according to drawings, specifications, and project plans
- Take a hands-on approach, actively participating in construction tasks alongside the team when required
- Set out work on site and ensure correct interpretation of drawings and instructions
- Allocate daily tasks to site teams and monitor productivity and performance
- Assist with physical construction work including setting out, concreting, formwork, earthworks, and general site duties where required
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are correctly used, maintained, and accounted for
- Monitor progress against project timelines and take corrective action where needed
- Identify and resolve on-site issues quickly to avoid delays and rework
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure their work aligns with site requirements and standards
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications
- Enforce strict health and safety standards and ensure safe working practices at all times
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all workers are briefed on daily tasks and risks
- Maintain site discipline, productivity, and workforce coordination
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution
- Complete and submit daily progress reports, and labour reports
- Ensure proper site housekeeping and organisation at all times
- Step in physically to assist the team during high-pressure or deadline-driven phases
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical or foreman role within the earthmoving, construction industry
- Matric and relevant qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work independently and perform under pressure
- Willingness to work on-site
- Valid Code 8 license with own reliable transport
